Pokémon Elite Trainer Boxes: How to Choose the Right One

An Elite Trainer Box (ETB) packs booster packs from one expansion together with play accessories. German shops call it a “Top Trainer Box”, French shops a “coffret Dresseur d’élite” and Spanish shops a “caja de Entrenador Élite”.

The boxes below range from current Mega Evolution and Chaos Rising releases back to Sun & Moon, plus two sealed ETB cases.

What is usually inside

ETBs are typically sold with several booster packs plus accessories such as card sleeves, Energy cards, dice and a storage box. The number of packs and the exact accessories have changed between releases and editions, so the listing and its photos are the reference for the box you are buying.

Pokémon Center editions and variant boxes

Pokémon Center editions are sold through the official Pokémon Center store and can differ from retail editions. They are marked in the title here, for example the Chilling Reign Ice Rider and Shadow Rider boxes and the Chaos Rising Pokémon Center box.

Some expansions were released with more than one artwork. The two Mega Evolution boxes (Mega Lucario and Mega Gardevoir) are separate listings, so pick the artwork you want.

Retail or Pokémon Center edition?

Only titles that say “Pokémon Center” are that edition.

One box or a case?

Listings ending in “Case” contain several boxes at one price.

Is the promo card included?

Only if the listing says so. Promo cards sold separately are in the single-card guide.
