Pokémon Booster Boxes and Sealed Cases: A Buyer’s Guide

A booster box is a sealed retail display of booster packs from a single expansion. In German and French shops the same product is usually called a “Display”. A case is a larger sealed carton that holds several boxes or bundles and is sold as one unit.

This guide lists every box, display and case in the shop, grouped by era so that current Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution boxes sit apart from older Sword & Shield and Sun & Moon boxes, which are priced very differently.

Box, display or case?

English-language booster boxes from recent main expansions are commonly sold as 36 packs, which is how many completed sale records describe them. That is not universal: the Chinese Terastal Gathering box in this shop, for example, states 10 packs, and Japanese boxes are smaller again. Treat the listing as the only reliable pack count.

Cases in this shop are named in the title — for example the Destined Rivals Booster Bundle WENZ Case of 40, whose listing states it contains 40 booster bundles assembled and distributed by Wenzel TCG. A case is not the same as a manufacturer-sealed case unless the listing says so.

How to compare prices fairly

Compare like with like: the same expansion, the same language and the same format. For older boxes, look at completed sales rather than asking prices; public sale trackers such as PriceCharting show recent sold listings for many English boxes. A higher or lower price elsewhere does not by itself say anything about condition or sealing.

Prices in this shop are shown in euros with taxes included.

Before you buy

Which expansion and language is it?

The expansion is in the title. Unless the title names another language, confirm the printed language in the photos.

Is it sealed?

Look at every photo of the wrapping on the listing. If something is unclear, ask through the contact page before ordering.

Is it a single box or several?

Only listings with “Case” or a stated quantity in the title contain more than one box or bundle.
